Edit: Updated OP by cleaning it up a bit and added an array of new achievement backgrounds with the new format. Should be plenty of base ones to chose from for people if they want something other than the standard look. Requests for backgrounds are welcome, but I'll make them on my time schedule if anything.

Yeah this is the right spot for this. I figured it would be good to have a sub-forum dedicated to tracking achievement icons.
Cleaned up bombardier a bit as there was a bit of smudge. Added that and Harvester. Thanks again!

Nice work man-- thread the needle looks great! We'll try to put these in for our next release. Your hard work has pushed me to fix some issues we've had. Last night I fixed an issue with selecting / displaying custom achievement backgrounds in redistributed voicepacks. You may not have noticed, but the sample achievement never shows under voice pack options if it is included in the rtst_vpk binary file.
Next I want to revisit animation since it causes problems for some users still, then we can include your headshot and fatality icons.

Nice! Yeah, noticed that. I've had to reload the same picture several times before, and sometimes it came up blank (no background). Was going to mention it in a feedback post, but you've fixed it, so... :D Also added two new icons for review, Instant Action and Maximum Damage. I like the Juggernaut one a lot, so didn't want to make a "new" icon, rather try and change the existing one to something showing it's "higher up the chain", so to speak. Not sure how visible it is on other monitors, but I've added the obvious color change, a glow effect as well as blood spatter on the MAX suit. And changed the eyes. Not sure if it falls in favor, but those are my changes.

Excellent. To meet the current theme of progression the max one should probably have wings added seen here: https://recursiontracker.com/images/ach/Accuracy3.png
There are faction specific achievements we have ready to add (recorded) which we'd need icons for too. Two wings (https://recursiontracker.com/images/ach/Accuracy4.png) could be used, and then just color tint the icon blue/purple/red (already red by default) for each faction. If you do that, I'll get the achievements in :)

Added a second Maximum Damage in the OP (I could keep the auraxium color style from the "one man to farm them all" if you'd like). Also, is this what you meant by coloring the icon? 823 Or, would you want the square/diamond colored differently? Either is easy to do.

Fist was hinting about the new tier 3 max achievement coming which is faction specific so we would need 3 different max icons colored toward their factions.

Note we still need a max damage one seperate from those. Faction specific is Tier 3, where Maximum Damage is teir 2 (and not faction specific)

Updated OP with 3 faction specific ones. Kind of at a loss as to what to do with Maximum Damage now :p I'll see if something strikes the grey matter at one point.

Added a new updated "Maximum Damage" icon for you guys to see. I've basically just added an extra layer of the penta shape with my first changes of shine/blood textures. Personally I feel that makes more sense than a limited amount of wings, since it's a penta, not circle/quad/triple shape like the others. Let me know what you feel about it.
Also, added a few more new ones.

These have been approved. Some are already implemented. The auraxium superman and topgun top view may still be used for other achievements. (very likely they're quite good)
Figured I might as well make use of this new subforum for the icons/backgrounds. I guess you can call it a "doublepost", but I'll have everything in this OP (including suggestions on icons/any new backgrounds)

One request I have is when you save future icons, could you do it without hyphens? Instead of Run-and-Gun, save it as RunAndGun. Don't worry about changing existing ones.

Cool :D And yes, I'll make sure to do that. It's just how Photoshop saves files unless I write them all in one, will fix from now on. /me starts hunting MAX's to get the new achievements :D
Edit: by that I obviously mean "gets in a MAX suit"... I'm just so damn used to killing the damn things. Might have to actually play as one now. The horror!

Achievement icon suggestions/pending:
Iced (this is completely different than the standard icons): 853 Sometimes I Impress myself (not too happy with this, made it mostly to fill an empty slot): 852
The iced one goes with the man on fire one pretty well.
The sometimes I impress myself is even a question mark in-game, so it will be nice to replace it.
Also we have animation working really well now in our development builds. If you ever want to do anything for more rare achievements like make the background glow or move in a few frames we can try it out. I can picture Sometimes I impress myself one with the purple background moving / glowing /etc.

We could use better up/down icons below the killboard, and a better hovercard background. The background would be nice to get to match the real in-game ps2 tool tips.
In fact, if you wanted to come up with a layout of useful information all together per hovercard that would be really helpful too.
By the way, some really cool things coming.

That looks great. I was thinking avout making the hover card vertically longer, and include other information like the killcount your opponent has on you/vise versa. I can probably just resize it myself though.

Here it is so far.
There's something weird going on with the alpha channel on the top left / bottom right edges though.
The overall transparency may be a bit too much also. I'm not overriding anything using our system, just the unedited image.

Actually the second one matches the official one pretty closely. Could you raise the opacity slightly? It's pretty transparent.

Oh, and just because, I made one that is slightly closer to the original. I intentionally made the one for RTST slightly dissimilar, but here is one that is even closer to the original (but still not 100% there). If you want a mirror copy I can probably do that as well. It's just that the "frame" is slightly offset from the corners. Other than the colors probably not matching 100% (but they should be pretty close.

If you can't tell, this one has the white frame on the vertical edges like the original does, not just the corners (but without the white bloom as that was causing the alpha issue).

If something like this is what you have in mind, I can work on making it more "shiny" and "glowy". The problem with .gif's though is that I can't make them "glow" with a transparent layer properly. It's just the nature of the image type. So everything needs to be limited to within the solid parts of the image. But there's tweaks to do making the layers themselves look more like metals and with a polished look.

Silencer, I figured I could give the default achievement background that pops up in game a new twist, along the lines of the other pop up/button(s) yet still distinct. So I just made it with the boarder all the way around, and outer glow as well, not just inner. Have a look and see what you think:

Hi gents !
First time I post here, so don't mind telling me if it's the wrong spot. I just wanted to ask a few things about the animated achievement backgrounds, without opening a new topic; I made a custom animated background for the guys from my unit, but it doesn't play the animation when an event is triggered (it stays on frame 1). Here is the gif (and also static png) :

- is it okay to use a gif set as "infinite loop" ?
- is there a maximum file size for the gif ?
- is there a maximum number of frame for the gif ?

There are no maximums set. The larger the size the longer it may take to initially load (first time or if the last achievement didn't use a background, ie FATALITY)
As of now any gif specific settings don't make it to directx. The frame rate is always 30 and it always loops for the display time of the achievement. I'd like to allow for more options in the future.

Did you consider maintaining the auraxium color style from the "one man to farm them all" for the second Maximum Damage icon, and is the coloring of the icon, as shown in the attachment, in line with the faction-specific achievements' requirements?
