New with 0.11 is the Recursion Dynamic Killmarker. It displays a marker upon kills to provide reliable feedback on bodyshots and headshots without shifting focus from the center of the screen. It's similar to hitmarkers in games, but for kills instead. More immediate and visible than headshot indicators in killfeeds, it's the feature you didn't know you wanted!

Installation
On the main menu, press "Add Mod" (http://i.imgur.com/OnD3rBk.png), find the "Dynamic Killmarker" mod, and press "Install" (http://i.imgur.com/H20SKt3.png). If you accidentally hide the mod manager or need to access it while in-game (it hides automatically when a session starts), move your mouse to the left side of the client and click in the highlighted region with the arrow (http://i.imgur.com/BxypaeJ.png).

Configuration
To configure what image the killmarker uses, click the "Killmarker" (http://i.imgur.com/UY6EVSq.png) component and "Configure" (http://i.imgur.com/YdudFt3.png). Press the "[...]" (http://i.imgur.com/WjJLbfq.png) button on either the headshot image or the bodyshot image and navigate to the file path of the image you'd like to use. A small set of preloaded images is included in the "Killmarkers" folder. For easy access, copy and paste your own images there so you can quickly navigate to them later on. Right click the "Killmarker" component and click "Open Directory" (http://i.imgur.com/mYGno9Q.gif) to reach the mod folder.

1. Do I have to use a centralized hitmarker-style image? How about a regular image or a banner?

You can turn off the automatic centering (http://i.imgur.com/U0oaZ7c.png) of images and use a manually set position under Tools -> Options -> Display if you would like a custom image such as a banner or headshot icon placed elsewhere on your screen.

2. Sometimes there is a delay between getting a kill and the killmarker displaying. Why?

Like most RTST mods and components, the Dynamic Killmarker is reliant on Planetside 2's Census API (https://census.daybreakgames.com/). If DBG are having issues or the API is slow, this will delay when such information is sent/received. The Recursion Tracker client processes this information, runs the scripts, and displays the images for you in a matter of milliseconds.

3. I don't like any of the available options, what can I do?

The premade killmarker images are designed around the centralized hitmarker-style theme. Different styles of killmarkers, headshot notification banners, and headshot icons can be created and used if you'd like. Everyone has their personal preference and they may not be satisfied with what's available. The Recursion Dynamic Killmarker allows for the use of any image, preferably saved as a .png for best appearance.

Creating a custom killmarker image can take a little time and effort, using free tools available online or any image creation software. An easy online tool is pixelartmaker.com (http://pixelartmaker.com/). Draw your custom killmarker image, then save it (remember to set the size of each pixel as 1px) and copy the downloaded PNG into the "Killmarkers" folder.

4. Can it be a hitmarker for hits and not kills?

The Dynamic Kilmarker relies on information from Planetside 2's Census API (https://census.daybreakgames.com/). Accuracy is only calculated and available in batches on a long timed interval, so there's no way to check for individual hits/misses, especially not in real-time and with the minimal latency that a hitmarker would require. It's a technical limitation that makes actual hitmarkers impossible to create as a Recursion Tracker modification.
