reinstalled the Visual C++ runtime, restarted the PC, stopped shadowplay, steam and everything else that has some overlay.
Still same error.

the last part of the errormessage is german:
Manche oder alle Identitätsverweise konnten nicht übersetzt werden = some or all Identitylinks couldnt be translated (or something like that ;) )

running german windows 7.

I see what the problem is, for now try turning off beta participation and try updating. It should role back a version. Thanks for reporting it.

Ok, re-enable beta participation. I pushed out a fix for it and would like to make sure it works for you.
