Simply put the Tracker crashes everytime I try to start a session. I can load and log-in just fine, but it ends up crashing everytime I try to start a session or even change something within the options. I have the .NET Framework 4.5 installed as suggested somewhere here on the forums. I also run Windows 8.1, is this a known issue with it?
The only issue I have heard of in 8.1 is a sound problem.
I know you said you have the .NET framework 4.5 installed, but have you tried running a repair-install of it? If one library is missing or became corrupted it can cause many problems with .NET apps.
Does it matter what option you change in the settings? Is it when you click it, or when you press Save?
I suppose I can try a repair-install. To my knowledge 8.1 comes with the .NET framework 4.5, and when I downloaded it from MS and tried installing it, it said it was already installed so I didn't bother, and thus wouldn't let me re-install or repair. How could I go about with a repair-install of it?

I did that, and it still crashes give or take about ~5 seconds after I start a session.
I tried seeing if I could recreate your problem and ran the app in my 8.1 install... but it actually ran faster than on my windows 7 and without issue. :P
Let's try to narrow down what's causing your problem exactly. Go under options -> configure and select Debug Log. (If it crashes here the problem is still almost guaranteed to be a .NET issue)
Type in a player name and then go to Session -> Create Session and select a time range when events occurred. Then press create. Does this work?
When you press start / resume session does the status change from Disconnected to Connected?
Is starting the session the only time it crashes?
Please copy and paste the error the program gives you.
Then go under your installation directory, there should be three different log files. log.txt, programLog.txt, and apiLog.txt. Please e-mail those to tracker@recursion.tk

Everything worked fine and didn't crash until I pressed start and the status went from disconnected to connected. Anyways, I have sent the following logs to the corresponding e-mail.

Were these fresh installs of 8.1 or upgraded from windows 8?

I had Windows 8 and upgraded to Windows 8.1 if that helps.
I checked to make sure .NET was installed or needed repairing, everything was fine.
As soon as I goto start a session it crashes within 5 second
I can create a session that goes back in time and it will show my stats but when I click "resume" session it will crash in around 5 seconds. So basically any kind of "Real time" tracking crashes the program.
I tried to run in Debug mode but I am not seeing the list of API calls, where should I be looking?

Is there any error message its actually giving you when it crashes? We're working on getting a fix out but being unable to recreate the issue slows us down. Our real-time connection method works a little differently than past events and we think the issue is there. This issue has moved to the top of our priority list. Thank you for the information.
I went into "Turn Windows Features On and Off" and made sure that every sub-option for the NET framework was enabled like the Windows Communication Foundation and all the TCP authentication junk that is usually turned off in a regular Windows install. I thought maybe you guys were using some kind of legacy or obscure SDK API call in one of those features.
But it's still crashing so you guy's can rule that out.
There is no error other then the program divided by zero and that Windows is checking for a solution.
Can you guys try going to Options-Tools-Configure and pressing the big button next to Volume? This plays a sound. Does this work?
Can you then try going to Tools-Options and uncheck Use Sound? Then try starting a session?
Pressing the big button next to volume didn't play a sound for me, and ended up crashing. However, unchecking sound and then starting a session worked fine. I didn't crash doing that.
The issue is related to our sound library.
Everyone here, please download this version, install it, and see if it works or presents a different error screen. There are also new options under configure which allow you to choose the audio device selection. Please see if changing this and pressing the sound button works.

Thanks to Sinist we resolved the initial issue by updating his sound drivers!
Please make sure your sound drivers for the audio device you are using are up to date.
Hey recursion team, my stat tracker crashes as i start up my session and comes up with this error "An error has occurred: UnspecifiedError calling waveOutOpen" is this to do with my audio drivers conflicting with each other because when i turn off the sound the stat tracker works with no crash.
I am using the latest version above and have checked the drivers in the picture below and windows says that they are all up to date.

Have you tried manually selecting your audio output device in the options?

Can you manually update the Realtek drivers from their website? I believe Sinist had to do that to resolve his issue.

Reporting back with success. All I did was uninstall my Realtek driver and now it is working perfectly? weird..... anyways thanks for your support and the quick reply.
I should probably stop procrastinating in buying a quality sound card.

I also got a strange error regarding the audio, "An error has occurred: WaveBadFormat calling waveOutOpen". I have just update to version 0.9.1.2 and an USB headset Gamecom 780. Didn't had any errors before.
We haven't touched the audio system for quite some time. Make sure you have latest audio drivers installed. Go into Tools->Options->Configuration and try selecting the USB headset as an output device manually. You can press the big achievement button to try and play a sound.
