Sub-Session Tracking (aka "Lap Timer")

Inspired by a recent Reddit thread discussing the merits of the in-game battle scoreboard.

When I'm riding my bike on a time trial, I keep track of my overall course time, but also use a "lap" timer to compare times of specific course segments.

Wouldn't it be nice to do this in Planetside as well?

It'd be nice to bookmark a specific section of your session as "that biolab from hell", and see how your metrics for that period of time compare to your metrics for the session as a whole.

Normally, I'd just start and stop the entire session to do this, but it's a shame to lose track of the entire session.
